How long does sperm survive?

I have heard anything between 24 hours up till 5 days inside a vagina. I had sex on a sunday and had no signs of ovulation until wednesday when i got a positive opk. So that is 3 days before ovulation with no other sex during ovulation. I am testing positive for pregnancy. So the sprem would have lived from Sunday to implant when the egg released?!
