Yes, i think you did. If you're getting hurt, and he doesn't know how you feel, what can he do about it? I think you should tell him how you feel, if he cares he will understand and try to help, also tell him if he asks, what he could do. Be open with him, if he ignores this, and doesn't say anything or make any attempt, i'm sorry hunny, but he kind of seems like a dud, in which you should ignore him, like he's ignoring you, and see if he makes an attempt, or just break it off.
