Is Hinduism gross......?

the concept of shivalingam i believe to be gross....It occurrence happened when the Shiva's private part (his penis) was cut by a female goddess due to some wrong doings and during the process of the cut lingam falling from heaven to earth his wife wanted to protect it from being exposed to earth so she wanted to catch due to which she layed down inorder to catch it and it fell correctly on her private area (vagina).......isn't this so gross and obscene to portray this and btw shivalingam is most worshiped by Hindus
