Who tells you what your punishment is in court?

The judge will tell you what punishment you will get, but your lawyer will suggest the type of punishment you might get beforehand. Apparently if you're pregnant the court goes easy on you. Just saying. And you shouldn't have been smoking marijuana in the first place, you brought this on yourself.
