Why is my Ex doing this?

I broke up with my bf 2 months ago but the thing is,is that we didnt get along so he told me to break up with him so he didnt look like a jerk.I agreed to it because we faught to much and i wasnt gonna force him to go out with me.well now hes been txting me for three days straight the convos start with hello but then he straro ask me weird questions like "kyle wants to know if you still like me"(kyle is his friend and mine) then the second day he txted me again and said"kyle wants to know if you will go out with me"i said no because i know him well enough and he was probably just doing that as a joke so if i said yes he would tell everyone i still like him.then he started to call me i asked y and he said "kyle wanted to hear your voicmail."then he asked me again if i would go out with him because he like m allott!(thats how he wrote it)i said "no because your not serious" then he said what are you talkng about and started acting like i was the one that txted first ,that he never called me,and saying i was lieing about stuff when i wasnt i had all the proof on my phone. so finally he told me to quit txting him(when he bothered me first) then about 20 mins later he called again but i ignored it anyways i wanna no y my ex is doings this to me im fine with being friends and him txting me but if hes gonna be a jerk i dont want him back in my life!
